Have you ever wondered why God does not answer our prayers?
By: Ysrael De la Cruz
The Scriptures give many reasons as to why God would not hear our prayers or answer them in our favor. There are things that hinder our fellowship with God and prevent our prayers from being answered. We should keep these things in mind when praying.
-God will not answer prayers of those who doubt; those who do not display faith. James. 1:6-7
-God does not respond to those who continue to live in disobedience, ignoring his instructions. 1 Peter 3:12; Psalm 66:17-19
-God does not hear the prayers of those who refuse to forgive others. Matt.6:12, 14-15
-God does not listen to those who are not humble. He opposes the proud and gives his favor to the humble. James 4:6
God told his people that if they humbled themselves and prayed and sought his presence and turned from their wicked ways, then he would hear, forgive, and heal the land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
God heard Josiah because of his obedience and his humility toward the LORD.
2 Chronicles 34:27-28
God is Sovereign and does not change; he has given us guidelines for how to pray and worship him. When we pray according to His will, we should examine ourselves; what is it about us that is hindering our prayer? Our communion? Our worship? He has already told us what we must do for him to hear, forgive and heal.
