Many times Christians may feel their growth is stagnant. They profess to believe or have faith in Jesus, but they may feel that they are not growing in their spiritual journey. Just as we take supplements when something is not right with our health, our faith also needs spiritual supplements. Peter wrote to Christians who were going through persecution and he encouraged them to add to their faith certain elements, which I call supplements. Spiritual maturity doesn’t just happen, it requires a rigorous effort on our part. We are to add to our faith goodness, knowledge, self-control, perseverance, godliness, brotherly love and love. Peter said that when we add these things to our faith, we become fruitful and effective in our knowledge of Jesus. Furthermore, he said that these things supplementing our faith will keep us from being trapped by the world and its deceitfulness. Are you feeling that you are not growing in your faith? Then you should take a look at these supplements. )2 Pet.1:3-11
